What does quiet cost? Electric boat prices in Europe

How much an electric boat costs in Europe in 2026: published prices from RAND, De Antonio, X Shore, Frauscher, Marian and Candela, and what drives them.

The first electric boat brochure is a lovely thing. Silent cruising, no fumes, no fuel dock. Then you turn to the last page and the stoke meets the price list.

Electric boats are not cheap, and the range is wide. A simple day boat and a flying hydrofoil can be more than 250,000 euros apart.

We collected published prices from European makers and the boating press so you can see where your money goes. Prices change often and options add up fast, so treat these as starting points.

X Shore launched the X Shore 1 at 99,000 euros excluding VAT in 2022 (Luxurious Magazine). By 2026 it is listed from 129,000 euros (Boatcible), a reminder that prices move.

The battery: the set wave on the price list

The single biggest cost driver is the battery. Fast boats need big batteries, and big batteries are expensive.

The De Antonio E23 shows it clearly. The base boat is about 77,400 euros including VAT, while the test boat with the most powerful motor and options came to about 153,600 euros (Boatnews). The E23 has a 50 kW motor and a 40 kWh battery in the configuration Powerboat & RIB describes (Powerboat & RIB).

Marian sells the M800 with motors from 60 to 150 kW and batteries up to 125 kWh, and its online configurator lets buyers trade power against endurance (boote). More battery, more range, more money.

Speed costs more than distance

Slow boats are cheaper to electrify. A displacement launch cruising at 10 km/h needs a small motor and a modest battery.

The Frauscher 650 Alassio is a good example. With an 11 kW motor and two 6 kWh batteries, boote measured a theoretical range of 47 km at a 10 km/h cruise. The most powerful 50 kW version reaches about 30 km/h (boote). Frauscher says more than 300 have been built.

If you want planing speed for hours, expect to pay for a large battery, or a hydrofoil like the Candela that needs less energy at speed.

The cheaper line-up: other ways in

A complete new electric day boat is not the only route.

Running costs: where electric pays back

The purchase price is higher, but running costs are usually lower: cheaper energy per hour, no oil changes, no fuel filters. Our guide to electric boat running costs works through the numbers.

Plan for the battery over the boat's life, and look after it. See battery care.

Our verdict: buy the range you need, not the range you dream of

So, how much should an electric boat cost you? Less than you fear, if you buy for how you really use it. A slow lake boat with a modest battery is far cheaper than a fast one with a huge pack.

Decide your speed and range honestly, then price the battery that delivers it. That one decision moves the price more than any badge on the bow. Browse the boats in day boats and foiling boats.

Questions

How much does an electric boat cost?

Electric day boats in Europe start around 57,720 euros excluding VAT for a RAND Mana 23. Premium models such as the Frauscher 650 Alassio start from 143,775 euros, and a Candela C-8 costs around 330,000 euros excluding VAT.

Why are electric boats expensive?

Mainly the battery. Large lithium packs are costly, and fast boats need big ones. Low production volumes and premium materials add to the price.

What is the cheapest electric boat?

Small boats with an electric outboard are the cheapest way in. Among complete day boats with published prices, the RAND Mana 23 starts from 57,720 euros excluding VAT.

Are electric boats cheaper to run?

Usually, yes. Electricity costs less than fuel for the same work and maintenance is simpler. The battery is the main cost to budget for over the boat's life.
