Who is responsible
Electric Skipper is an independent website run by Isak Hemmingsson, Stockholm, Sweden. He is the controller for the personal data described here. Contact: helloelectricskipper@gmail.com.
Reading the site
You can read Electric Skipper without an account. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
To show the site, a few services receive your IP address and basic browser details as part of normal web traffic:
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps short technical logs to run and protect it.
- Google Fonts delivers the fonts.
- OpenStreetMap delivers the map tiles on our maps.
Suggesting a place
When you use Suggest a place, we receive the details of the place and, if you choose to give them, your name and email address. We use your name and email only to ask you about your suggestion. We never publish them and never use them for marketing.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the maps accurate, and your choice to send us the suggestion.
Suggestions are stored as private records in our GitHub repository, without your name or email. Your name and email go only into an email notice to our inbox, sent through Resend. To place the suggestion on the map, the address is looked up with OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. Your name and email are not sent to Nominatim.
Details of places we publish, such as a business name, address and phone number, come from public sources or from the business itself.
How long we keep data
We keep a suggestion as a record of what was added or rejected. We delete the email notice with your name and email once the suggestion is handled, and at the latest after 12 months, or earlier if you ask us to.
Services outside the EU
Vercel, GitHub, Resend and Google are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to how we use it or ask us to limit it. Email helloelectricskipper@gmail.com. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
Brands updating their page
When a brand asks to update its page, we receive a work email address and send a login link to it through Resend. We use the address only to confirm that the person works for the brand, and to contact them about the change. The login link and the session it starts contain the address in signed form and expire after 30 minutes and 7 days. The proposed changes are stored in our GitHub repository without the email address. The address is only in the email notice to our inbox, which we delete as described above.
Businesses listed on the maps
If your business is listed and you want something changed or removed, email us or use Suggest a place.
