What does it cost to fly? eFoil prices in Europe

How much an eFoil costs in Europe in 2026: prices from SiFly, Waydoo, Fliteboard and Lift, what drives the price, and the costs beyond the board.

The first time you see an eFoil, two thoughts arrive at once. I want one. And: how much?

The honest answer is: more than a surfboard, less than a boat, and with a wider spread than most people expect. A budget eFoil and a premium one can be 10,000 euros apart.

We collected published prices from European retailers and makers so you can see where the money goes. Prices change often, so treat them as a guide.

For comparison, the JETSURF Electric jet board is listed at 14,869 euros including VAT (E-Surfer).

What drives the price: reading the swell

Four things explain most of the gap.

  • Board material. Foam and inflatable boards cost less than carbon. Carbon is lighter and stiffer, which advanced riders notice.
  • Battery. A bigger battery means longer sessions and a higher price. Spare batteries are expensive on their own.
  • Foil and drive. More refined wings and quieter, more efficient drives cost more.
  • Brand and support. Established brands charge for their dealer network, service and resale value.

SiFly's own range shows this clearly: the same brand runs from about 5,950 euros for foam to about 9,520 euros for carbon (E-Surfer).

Beyond the board: the full quiver

The board is not the whole bill. Budget for:

  • A spare battery, if you want longer sessions or to share the board.
  • Safety gear. A helmet and impact vest are sensible, and some rules require them. E-Surfer reports that Greece expects both for eFoil riders (E-Surfer).
  • Lessons. Money well spent, and they save on repairs.
  • Transport and storage. A board bag, a battery case and somewhere dry and warm to keep the battery.
  • Insurance. Check whether your home or boat insurance covers it.

Buy, rent or wait? The flat spell question

If you will ride a few times a year, renting or taking guided sessions is often cheaper. It also lets you try different brands before you commit.

If you ride often, buying makes sense. Look at a brand with a dealer near you, since service matters more than a few hundred euros on the price.

Used eFoils exist too. The same rule as for any electric craft applies: judge the deal on the battery. See buying a used electric boat for what to check.

Our verdict: pay for the riding you will do

So, how much should you spend on an eFoil? Enough to get a board that suits your weight and level, from a brand you can get serviced. For most beginners, that is a stable foam or inflatable board in the 6,000 to 9,000 euro range, rather than a carbon race board.

Start with lessons, ride a few brands, then buy. Compare the models in the best eFoils for 2026.

Questions

How much does an eFoil cost?

Published prices in Europe start around 5,950 euros for a SiFly Rider and reach 16,149 euros for a Lift LIFT5. Fliteboard's fibreglass range starts from £9,995.

What is the cheapest eFoil?

Among the brands we list, SiFly and Waydoo are at the budget end. SiFly's foam Rider starts from about 5,950 euros, and Waydoo's Flyer EVO Lite starts from 4,899 US dollars on its US store.

Why are some eFoils so expensive?

Carbon boards, bigger batteries, more refined foils and brand support all add cost. A premium eFoil is also a high-power electric vehicle with a waterproof battery and drive.

Is it cheaper to rent an eFoil?

For a few sessions a year, yes. Renting or taking lessons lets you try the sport and compare brands before spending thousands.
